TO New Mexico, where the Attorney General’s Office says “paedobear” aak “pedobear” is a menace to children. Pedobear is the Internet meme introduced to the Western web by 4chan as a way or mocking paedophiles and anyone posting creepy images and stories about children. It is a renamed version of the 2chan ASCII art character “kuma”. You might have seen Pedobear hanging out with the Pope.

Lynn Southard with the AGO says cars in Albuquerque and southern New Mexico are carrying paedobear stickers. Says she:

“It’s very scary, it’s a very scary situation that’s been brought to our attention that these vehicles are circulating around New Mexico.”

We’ve been here before. In 2010 the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department warned:

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department is warning parents about a disturbing new phenomenon made popular by pedophiles and sexual deviants. The Pedo Bear began as an online Japanese cartoon character, and is known for his “lecherous nature” towards prepubescent children. Recently, pedophiles have adopted the bear as a mascot.

Although there have been no reported sightings of the image on the Central Coast, individuals dressed in the bear costume and car decals have been seen in Southern California.

It is beyond parody. Paedophiles are now dressed in bear suits to better lure children.

Only the man in the bear costume was not Mark Wallinger. He wasn’t a paedophile. He was a fan having a laugh at Comic Con.

Its all darn confusing. The only thing for it is to round up any adults who own a bear suit. Also, if you see a grown man buying a teddy bear, carrying one in public or driving about with one the back seat of their car – possibly near a school – yell “PEADO!” and demand that he be locked up for the rest to his unnatural life…

According to an article posted on Houston’s KTRH, Former Deputy Assistant Director for the FBI Danny Coulson is quoted as saying “ ”They’re perverts and I think they like the idea that they can now come out and they can identify each other,”.  Where exactly he’s getting this information, we’re not sure. Here’s the entire article:

Law Enforcement: Parents Watch Out For the Pedo Bear

Cute teddy bear cartoon character being used by child molesters to identify each other.

By JOE GOMEZ

Meet the “Pedobear”!

The bear is an internet meme that was originally designed to make fun of pedophiles, however now they’ve embraced it and law enforcement agencies across the country are warning parents to be on the look out for the innocent seeming teddy bear as child molesters are apparently using it on cars and on shirts to identify each other.

“They’re perverts and I think they like the idea that they can now come out and they can identify each other,” says Former Deputy Assistant Director for the FBI Danny Coulson.

Pedobear apparel and posters are on sale on the internet featuring disturbing catch phrases like “too young to talk too young to testify” and “free candy.”

As eerie as this trend is Randy Burton with Justice for Children says it at least lets parents know who to avoid.

“You want to keep your kids away from anybody who’s got this Pedobear symbol,” says Burton.

Some people have also been seen dressed up as the Pedobear in order to get closer to children.

Pedobear Story Goes Global

by Friends of Pedobear

New Zealand Article Mentions Pedobear Scandal

A New Zealand website called New Zealand Pc World has a paragraph dedicated to the story that started out in New Mexico.

Police in New Mexico frown upon your internet memes

Police in Albuquerque, New Mexico, are getting a little wound up over people putting stickers of pedobear up in their cars.

Yeah. Pedobear. As in this guy:

Apparently this internet meme has been deemed a bit of a threat, as now police are concerned that actual pedophiles – as opposed to the fictional pedophilic bear that probably came from the loins of 4chan – are using pedobear’s image to communicate that they’re into kids.

While we don’t deny that it’s possible, all we can really read from this is that police don’t even know how to an internet.

AG’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit on Alert

“Pedobear” Sightings Concern Local Law Enforcement

(ALBUQUERQUE)—Attorney General Gary King says depictions of a cartoon-like bear that is linked to pedophiles could be an indication of increased child sex offender activity in the Albuquerque area.

“Our ICAC unit has received reports that the Pedobear window sticker has been sighted in Albuquerque on at least two vehicles recently,” says AG King. “We are very concerned about the potential link between the Pedobear symbol and pedophiles; we also want to increase public awareness of the potential danger to children, especially young girls.”

The concept of the Pedobear began on the Internet as a digital representation of a bear that has a sexual interest in underage girls. Pedobear symbology has spread from the online subculture to mainstream depictions all over the world in the last couple of years.

Recently, a man dressed as the Internet-based Pedobear was escorted by police from the San Diego Comic Con event, where he had been distributing candy to children.

A photograph (see below) of a vehicle in Albuquerque sporting a Pedobear window sticker was forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office by the New Mexico Department of Corrections. Also attached is an information flyer for parents and other concerned adults with more details about the Pedobear history.

The news release caused quite a commotion amongst Pedobear sympathizers and others who think it was irresponsible for the AG’s Office and media to even talk about the potential link to real-life pedophiles..(as opposed to wannabes?). Even some of the journalists who covered the story were hesitant or scared off the story because a few vocal people were adamant in their claims that the whole Pedobear thing was a big joke that the media and AGO had been duped into reporting about. Thanks to the media folks who had the courage to report the story, I realize you put your hard-earned credibility on the line. You did the right thing. Some people thought it would cause a backlash of vigilantism against anyone who displayed a Pedobear sticker or flag or T-shirt. For the record, of course our investigators know that the Pedobear symbology began as an Internet meme joke, poking fun at pedophiles, and yes, we know that anyone who has the bad taste to display a Pedobear symbol is not necessarily a pedophile…emphasis on the word “necessarily.” If you are a parent of a three year old, can you really take a chance? This is most assuredly NOT fear-mongering by “well meaning government officials,” as one journalist seemed to wonder about. Law enforcement personnel across the country know about Pedobear, they are also concerned. This is the Attorney General’s Office simply trying to make New Mexicans aware that the Pedobear symbol is out there and we think the general public, especially those who are not clued in to today’s Internet culture, deserve to know what the Pedobear symbol is about and how it is interpreted by law enforcement. Individuals can make their own conclusions as to the relative importance of this information. You don’t have to drink the Kool-Aid to know what’s in it, right? Lastly, if the Attorney General’s Office is lambasted for being too cautious by doing anything and everything we can to help protect children from pedophiles…we’re OK with that.

Why are dumb things always done in the name of children, when no issue really existed? How about we worry about educating our children in science and math instead of some fictional cartoon character?

Save Pedobear

If you want to make it known that you support pedobear and that it is not a fringe symbol used by miscreants, a great idea would be to flood New Mexico Attorney General Gary King’s office with letters decrying his agency’s ridiculous behavior. Send Mr. King you disagree with his state’s handling and misrepresentation of pedobear by mailing their office with decals.

What is the War Against Pedobear?

by Friends of Pedobear

It all began when New Mexico Attorney General Gary King stated that “Our ICAC unit has received reports that the Pedobear window sticker has been sighted in Albuquerque on at least two vehicles recently,” says AG King. “We are very concerned about the potential link between the Pedobear symbol and pedophiles; we also want to increase public awareness of the potential danger to children, especially young girls.”

That’s right–the popular internet meme known as Pedobear is an international symbol of pedophilia. There’s no telling how they ascertain this to be true but they’ve been running with it anyway. And of course, it’s all been in the name of ‘saving the children’. The age-old scapegoat of saying moronic things in the name of saving children has gone on for ages.  Pedobear has NOTHING to do with pedophilia. The only relationship it has with children is maybe the humor level of those who enjoy pedobear and similar memes.

Since this story began within the past few weeks, many news outlets have began to pick this story up and passing off the myth of the Pedophile connection as truth. Before you know it, myth will become truth across America. Show these idiots that Pedobear is NOT for pedophiles by proudly displaying your stickers and decals everywhere. Please send all pictures to savepedobear@gmail.com and we will post them on here.
